P-Side is the name adopted by a group of young men who reside in a suburb of GABORONE, BOTSWANA called PARTIAL. The group name then intimately became linked with the geographical location that the group members found themselves in, and thus was born P-SIDE. The process described above happened in 1994 and was borne out of a love for their music, especially Rap/Hip Hop. At the time of the group's formation, hip-hop was at its infant stage in Botswana and not that many people were into it. Six years later there is a buzz on about the music scence in this country, more especially among the youth. The popularity of this genre of music is fast replacing R&B, Kwaito and House music among the Botswana population. Meanwhile, the P-Side has grown in popularity so much so that residents from outside the geographical limitations of Partial have opted to join this hip hop collective to work on the first official P-Side project.
